Kinesthetic Learners: Here's how to take advantage of your learning style and increase team engageme

Reach your team members who are Kinesthetic Leaners using Motivational Speaker Tyler Haydens tool MIQ to unlock and engage your team.

As a kinesthetic learner, you probably don’t like sitting around much. You are action-oriented and like to use props, models, and other tangible objects to attack a project. Depending on your work environment, it may be difficult for you to sit through long meetings and in-depth explanations.

Here’s how you can use your learning style to better engage with your team members:

  • Take a walk! If it’s a one-on-one conversation, see if the other person is available to take a brisk walk with you while you both discuss.
  • Roleplay. Act out different scenarios with other team members to actively work out the solutions to problems.
  • Have something small to fiddle with while you have to sit still; a ball, a fidget spinner, a pen, you name it.

Bonus: Kinesthetic learners are rare, so congrats on being unique! However, because they are rare, many other people don’t understand your need to move around, touch, and physically model scenarios in order to process concepts.

Tell your team members about your learning style. This way, if you’re bouncing a tennis ball in a meeting, walking around and waving your arms, or tapping your pencil, they’ll understand why.

Are you a kinesthetic learner? How do you use your unique learning style to engage with others?
